Due to my increasing work load at my full time job and my music business, I’ve decided to shut up shop early. Mismatch will be on holidays from today until mid January. Happy holidays folks!
I couldn’t leave without first sharing my top tracks of November..
Youthfire – ‘Hallucinate’
Youthfire is the moniker of singer-songwriter and producer Stephen Carmichael. There’s a beautiful intricacy to ‘Hallucinate’, Carmichael’s almost whispered vocals glide across the electronic soundscape.
Mike Waters – ‘Them Dirty Bones’
It’s been over a year since we last heard from Mike Waters. His single ‘Gambling Man’ made my top tracks of 2015. He’s returned with another cracking tune, pure indie pop bliss. At his sold out single launch on Saturday night, he spoke about finding his direction and passion with music, and I’m one listener who’s glad he took that chance.
Owen Rabbit – ‘Someday The Rain Is Gonna Come’
2 & a half years since Owen Rabbit‘s debut single ‘Police Car’ was released and my ears are in heaven listening to the debut EP One. ‘Someday The Rain Is Gonna Come’ is the standout for me, uniquely textured with an array of styles and delicate vocals.
Holy Holy – ‘Elevator’
February 24th can’t come soon enough, it’s the release date of Holy Holy‘s second album Paint. With rich vocals and descriptive lyrics, there’s a nostalgic feel to new single ‘Elevator’.
Yeo – ‘Frost’
With a seemingly endless pool of talent, Yeo delivers yet another stellar electro pop single. If you haven’t heard his latest album Ganbaru, do yourself a favour now.
